Chang Hui is a tenured professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. President of the Educational Linguistics Professional Committee of the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese, President of the Second Language Processing Professional Committee of the China Association for Comparative Studies of Chinese and Foreign Languages and Cultures, Vice President of the Language Cognition and Intelligence Development Professional Committee of the China Society for Modernization of Chinese Language and Literature, Standing Director of the Second Language Acquisition Research Professional Committee of the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese, Journal of Second Co-executive editor of Language Studies, Editorial Board member of Foreign Language Teaching and Research, Contemporary Foreign Language Studies and International Journal of Chinese Language Teaching. Executive Director of the National Language Commission Research Base "National Language and Health Research Center", one of the first batch of national virtual teaching and research rooms of the Ministry of Education, Shanghai Municipal Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, National First-Class Major Construction Point, National first-class Course Leader, winner of the First prize of Shanghai Teaching Achievement Award, and chief editor of multiple textbooks.
Mainly engaged in research on language acquisition and processing, foreign language teaching and testing, as well as aphasia language. So far, more than 50 academic papers have been published in core linguistics journals of SSCI and CSSCI both at home and abroad. Three monographs have been published. The National Social Science Foundation of China's Youth Project and Key Project, the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Foundation of China's Youth Project, and the Shanghai Undergraduate Key Teaching Reform Project have been completed as the principal investigator. Currently, I am in charge of the major bidding project of the National Social Science Foundation of China, titled "Innovative Research on Second Language Acquisition Theory Benchmarking International Chinese Language Education".
