Ding Hongwei is a tenured professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He holds a Doctor of Linguistics degree and the qualification of Professor of Engineering from Germany. Served as the chief expert of the National Social Science Major Project "Corpus Construction for People with Mental Disorders and Language Research for Brain Science and Artificial Intelligence", an Officer of the Council of the International Association of Speech Prosody, and the deputy director of the Phonetics Branch of the Chinese Linguistics Society. Served as the chief editor of two series of books published by Springer and a reviewer for SCI/SSCI journals, and published over a hundred international papers. During the more than ten years of conducting research on speech technology at the German Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, I have led or participated in over ten vertical projects in Germany or the European Union as well as horizontal projects with renowned international companies, including the construction of multilingual speech synthesis systems and the development of computer-aided speech learning systems. After returning to China, I have mainly been engaged in the research of second language speech acquisition. In recent years, I have focused on the cognitive neuroscience exploration of speech prosody in people with hearing and mental disorders, and have continued to collaborate with internationally renowned companies to develop technical products in the fields of speech intelligence and speech pathology.
